Torry Holt done for the season

So much for Torry Holt being the No. 3 wide receiver in New England this year. The Patriots have placed the 11-year veteran on Injured Reserve.

Holt had gone from possibly the No. 3 receiver to a man fighting for the No. 6 job. He has been battling a knee.

This marks the end of the season for the 34-year-old, and possibly the end of a Hall of Fame-worthy career.

Torry Holt done for the season

There are only 21 modern era WRs in the HOF.  Torry Holt's career is worthy of HOF consideration, but consider what it took for Art Monk to get in.  Now consider the the fact that Cris Carter and Andre Reed continue to be passed over.  If Torry Holt ever gets in, it won't be immediately upon his eligibility

Pats need a better coach??  Bill B. has been declared the 2nd best coach of all time behind Shula, by CBS sportsline. Are you stupid or just an idiot?  wow, the jealousy of BB and the pats is getting old allready..

If Cris Carter's not in, Holt has no chance. A big reason why Carter isn't in is because of the relationship he had with the media.  He wasn't exactly a media darling.  Throw in his early career indiscretions with the Eagles and the fact that Jerry Rice just got inducted this past season and that's why he's waiting.

Torry Holt done for the season

I love these debates of who should go and who shouldn't go to Canton and why. There are some very good arguments and some very weak ones as well. I may not agree with some of the peoples arguments on here I do agree with the names that are mentioned, such as Cris Carter, Art Monk....etc. The Monk arguement was pretty weak, however watching him play his entire career, I agree he belongs. Cris Carter, definately belongs, not a huge fan of the guy, but he played his _ _ _ off after his first few years in the league. But to say Torry definately is a long shot to make it ? Only 3 players in the history of NFL have had the same consistency, Rice, Moss, & Torry - each had at least 6 consecutive years with 1200+ yards & Jerry had an amazing 9! Harrison??? Not on this list. Torry was 12 & 11 yards short of this mark in the 7 and 8th years of this run! The arguement of adding a few 500 yard season to pat stuats does not hold water either. If you are using this arguement then tarnish just about every great receiver or heck, any great player for that matter who has the desire to keep competeing after he has clearly lost a bit of his game! The guy qualifies just as some of these others mentioned and has the character to go with his on field performance.

Torry Holt done for the season

Hall of Fame is not for every player that puts up stats and wins a couple super bowls.  Warner and Bruce have a combination of both that make them LOCKS.  holt was a great WR in the NFL but just not Hall of Fame.  thats not taking anything away from him but if they start letting guys in just because they were really good, but not quite great the Hall of Fame becomes something not as exclusive.

Amen brutha.  The Pats drool, and will continue to do so until they get a better coach. And the last time the Browns went to the Super Bowl was...?

Get a clue. And if you think Mangenius is going to get you there, you might as well leave cookies for Santa Claus too.

Torry Holt done for the season

Well said.  You've never seen Bruce dawn a trenchcoat with the initials "H.O.F." on the back after scoring a touchdown.  Funny, yes.  Tacky, self-absorbed, and classless, yes as well.
