There could finally be some movement on the Vincent Jackson front. According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports , the Seattle Seahawks have been given permission to discuss contract terms with the star receiver. This suggests that a trade could be on the horizon. V. Jackson (US Presswire)

The Seahawks say they have talked to Chargers general manager A.J. Smith about trade compensation for Jackson. If Jackson gets his way, a new contract would likely be in the neighborhood of $9 million per season. Jackson would instantly become the No. 1 receiver in Seattle, relegating T.J. Houshmandzadeh to a more-fitting underneath role and allowing second-round rookie Golden Tate to assume the slot duties.

The Dolphins’ acquisition of Brandon Marshall from Denver will likely set the bar here. Miami gave up two second-round picks for Marshall (one in 2010, another in 2011).

Jackson’s holdout stems from his displeasure with being tendered as a restricted free agent. Jackson refused to sign the one-year tender of $3.268 million by June 15. The Chargers reduced the one-year tender to $583,000, which only widened the gap between the player and team.

i keep seeing all these charger fans wanting him gone but you fail to realize the success of malcom floyld was because there were 2 db watching jackson..

Except that had you watched the games you'd know they weren't. Defenses bracketed Antonio Gates. Defenses cannot commit 4 players to cover 2 players with 4 receiving threats.

no one was saying to get rid of jackson when it was him and chris chambers, charger fans where loving him. Also expect the declining running game to decline more without him since he is also one of the best run blocker WR's  man is 6'5 and like 240 and is a very strong reciever.. good luck replacing him..

And Malcolm Floyd is 6'5" 230...Legadu Naanee is 6'2" 225....what was your point again? Stupidity?

There is more to this then just what jackson did off the field. people make mistakes.. everyone is quik to pass judgment on him but when he was killing week in and week out half the people on here bashing him where riding his nuts..

Do you even know how many 100 yards games he has had in his career? We are talking a 2 time 1K receiver, not Larry Fitzgerald or Marvin Harrison. Silly...

He is young and rich what do u expect him to do?

Register his vehicle and call a cab as not to jeopordize his career. He is one mistake from a year suspense. On his second strike.

i dont like the idea of him going to the seahawks because they really dont have that good a team they are in rebuild mode now and honestly dont see them making the playoffs anytime soon.. Jackson makes them a better team but he alone cant take them to the playoffs.. jackson housh and tate thats a good core but how long is hasselback going to have to throw the ball? whats the running game going to do?? bad move for chargers good move for the hawks.. my opinion

Opinion with extremely little fact

All these idiots that think they know player attitudes kill me (ya killin' me whitey!)
LOL, Jackson change of scenery will be good for the Hawks and bad for the farters!
Can't wait to see Jackson burnin diega molts on Sep 26th!  GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

You have to love when someone decides to chime in and call people idiots when the are cleary doing so from a position of complete ignorance.

Vincent Jackson is suspended for the first three games Mr. Smart Racist.
The Chargers face the Seahawks week three.
He would not be playing.
He would not have been able to even practice with the team.
He can have no official contact in a football capacity.
The Chargers are in no rush, they can trade him the week of, as to not provide the Seahawks any insight into their playbook.
The trade deadline is weak 6.

The Chargers aren't a desperate ball club like the Seahawks, and besides, clearly the Chargers have far more intelligent fans....
