Posted by Will Brinson If Wednesday was all about Matt Leinart, you can expect today to be all about Ben Roethlisberger. After all, today he finds out just how much time he'll miss courtesy of a suspension from Roger Goodell.
So, let's get this party started: word on the street, courtesy of Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette , is that Art Rooney will NOT try to ask for a reduction down to three games for Big Ben's suspension.
"That door is not open," a source who is familiar with the meeting told the Post-Gazette .
This is obviously in stark contrast to a Sal Paolantonio report from Wednesday afternoon that indicated Big Ben and Co. would actively seek a reduction of the six-game suspension down to three.
But, it's good news if it's true because -- as Andy and I recently discussed -- Big Ben and his people strolling into the NFL offices and seeking three games when everything about the situation seems to indicate that he'll get lucky with just four games, well, that's just plain greedy.
The fourth game is a home date against the Ravens and the Steelers could really use Ben back, especially with the Byron Leftwich injury that occured on Thursday . That being said, they can stay afloat through the bye week and, if they can have him in uniform in time for Week 6, their season isn't shot.
