The two ugliest plays of the night for the Dallas Cowboys against the Washington Redskins came on the final play of the first half and the final play of the game. Jason Garrett (much to the chagrine of Wade Phillips, apparently) called a half-option scramble to end the first half that resulted in Tony Romo pitching the ball to Tashard Choice, who promptly put the ball on the turf (for the first time in his career, no less) for DeAngelo Hall to scoop it up and take it to the house.

Given that the Cowboys had three seconds remaining in the game, down six, with a shot to win, that play probably stings a little. But not as much as the final play of the game -- Romo, under duress, managed to scramble away from rushing defenders and hit Roy Williams in the end zone for a game-winning touchdown ... which was quickly nullified because of an Alex Barron hold.

Barron, the NFL's most penalized offensive lineman over the past five years, practically bear-hugged Brian Orakpo en route to nullifying the touchdown and a Dallas victory.

In other words, maybe the Rams somehow ended up getting the better end of the deal when they traded Barron to Dallas for Bobby Carpenter, even if they eventually cut him.

Bonus, watch the holding call you see above/right by clicking play below.

They are not the most overrated team because of these two plays, they are the most overrated team because every year they are picked to win the SB and every year they make bonehead plays (players and coaches) that cost them games. If they were simply picked to go to the playoffs and then they lost this game normally, no problem, tough division loss. But they are picked by MANY experts, have a great team on paper, and they hand the game to the redskins, a division rival, who managed barely any offense. It was the first game of the year and mistakes are made. Hell, I was almost convinced GB was gonna give that game back to Vick cuz of our mistakes on offense and bad play, but year after year, game after game they manage to help worse teams beat them and never live up to potential. Not living up to your potential in big games makes you overrated, not just those two plays.

The Cowboys are the new Redskins. Fire the coach, get rid of the QB, sell the team to someone who's not so hands on...this is great stuff!

Blame it on coaching, blame it on the players.... Blah, blah, blah.  Maybe this should all be chalked up to the fact that the Cowboys are THE MOST over-rated and over-hyped team in the NFL.  It's time to sell the team to a new owner, an owner who will let the coach "coach" the team.  It's time to fire Romo and get a real leader on the field.  It's time to get rid of the high-priced, over-indulged players and get more "Team" oriented players like Miles Austin and Jason Witten.  Maybe then the Cowboys might be worthy of the "hype."

Come on guys...it's not the players, it's the coaching staff. The Cowboys do not have a good head coach...he's Jerry's yes man, and Jason Garrett made two stupid calls...1st and 10 from the Redskins 12 and he calls a halfback pass...then on 3rd down, a WR screen from the 6, which garners a holding penalty, followed by a missed field goal. The play at the end of the 1st half speaks for itself for the head coach and the O-coordinator. Tony Romo threw 47 passes and yet, they ran the ball successfully, 21 times for 103 yards. You can see there's no offensive continuity on the Cowboys...they're just out there running around with no plan.

It's going to be a long season...Deangelo who???It's Deangelo Hall not Panthers Deangelo Williams. Gasp...bad journalism too.
