James Harrison got tattooed with a $75,000 fine for his "illegal" hits on Mohamed Massaquoiand Josh Cribbs. Harrison's fine was bigger than others issues by the NFL because he was a "repeat offender" -- if you believe Harrison's chatter from late Tuesday, he might not have to worry about hitting anyone again.

Ever.

"I'm going to sit down and have a serious conversation with my coach tomorrow and see if I can actually play by NFL rules and still be effective," Harrison said on Fox Sports Radio with Jody McDonald. "If not, I may have to give up playing football."

That seems like it's probably a stretch -- there have been plenty of people (in plenty of jobs who hated plenty of rules that plenty of employers put in place) who threatened to quit their gigs.

It's a natural emotional reaction, even though the NFL isn't changing any rules, just bothering to actually enforce them.

But to answer the original question: "No."

I hear you IU. It's funny because I was referring to you. It's the truth that you are usually very objective on the boards. More so than me even and I try to be pretty unbiased. Complete coincedence with the Cubs. Had no idea you were a Cubs fan. Are you trying to change my mind about them too? Geez. I'm running out of things to believe in.haha.

The truth is I think this is Harrison's niche and he's made a career out of being this guy. He's had to fight early on to stay in the NFL and when he found what he could do well he's been thriving ever since. I think he's a guy with not much going on upstairs but definately an asset to any team. I thought the hit on Mohammad was an illegal one but not a blatant and obvious one. My issues were with his comments and actions afterwards. I thought it was pretty rediculous to be honest. In all fairness though you'd be hard pressed to find an NFL team full of Rhodes scholars.

Cbuck you called me out because I'm the one steelers fan that you are referring to because we've been on the boards before.  My thoughts are this.  I cringe when Harrison opens his mouth because it seems like something ignorant is always coming out of it.  I love the Steelers and I love there tough as nails approach on defense but the things Harrison says and the things he does off the field makes it hard to be totally supportive of this guy.  I will say this and I'm not including you Cbuck as among these.  Everyone cries about how Steelers fans are whining about this but every fan base has this.  The Steelers are not some isolated group when it comes to this.  If Ray Lewis got fined for this there would be Raven fans whining.  If Revis did this Jets fans would be whining.  If Freeney did this,  Colts fans would be whining so stop singling out Steeler fans as being whiners when every team has fans who would be and also do the same thing.  Now Cbuck,  I'm a Cubs fan too.  I think you were looking at my profile and just wanted to pick on me.  Thanks for not going after IU,  we've been going through alot of suffering lately
