Would James Harrison really consider retirement?

James Harrison got tattooed with a $75,000 fine for his "illegal" hits on Mohamed Massaquoiand Josh Cribbs. Harrison's fine was bigger than others issues by the NFL because he was a "repeat offender" -- if you believe Harrison's chatter from late Tuesday, he might not have to worry about hitting anyone again.

Ever.

"I'm going to sit down and have a serious conversation with my coach tomorrow and see if I can actually play by NFL rules and still be effective," Harrison said on Fox Sports Radio with Jody McDonald. "If not, I may have to give up playing football."

That seems like it's probably a stretch -- there have been plenty of people (in plenty of jobs who hated plenty of rules that plenty of employers put in place) who threatened to quit their gigs.

It's a natural emotional reaction, even though the NFL isn't changing any rules, just bothering to actually enforce them.

But to answer the original question: "No."

Adios Muchacho, and don;t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out!  You are a thug and you know this!  You lead with your helmet on two plays and you acted surprised that it happened. I don;t know where you learned your basic tackling skills by no one has ever been taught to blatantly lead with their helmet!  That is just stupid, ever hear of paralysis?  I hope your whiney ass does retire as that i sthe only way you know how to play illegally!  Then you can grab your other little bitch boy HInes Ward and he can be next.  He is one of the dirtiest player around and the league knows this fact!

"if I can actually play by NFL rules and still be effective" - so he is admitting that he doesn't tackle legally. Like the NFL has said, no rule is being changes, they are just actually enforcing them more. If Harrison thinks that he can't play without leading with his head, he shouldn't be playing anyway. This is the kind of thinking that needs to stop in the NFL. Guys think that blasting people in the face is the only way to make their plays and it's not at all. If Harrison can't play by the rules then get out. The more he talks, the more he seems like a bonehead who knows nothing more about football than how to hit hard.
The only thing he did by saying that is make himself look like a worse player since he apparently doesnt and doesnt know how to actually tackle.

Don't quit !! Go out and Hit as hard as you can everytime and wait for the league to kick you out. Then don't come back. Make your point that way and get your point across that the NFL is going too soft . Don't come his way if you don't want to be hurt girls.

No James, don't do it. If you left, they would have to shut down the NFL.
