James Harrison has been fined for another illegal hit, though this time the blow – both the one Harrison delivered and the one his wallet endured – was far less significant. The NFL fined the Steelers linebacker $20,000 for his late hit on Drew Brees Sunday night.

Is Goodell looking for safety or a way to help offenses score more points. Seems to me Harrison is a marked man. The 2008 NFL Defensive MVP is being sacked by the league! It is a down right shame. Polamalu is right Goodell has to much power. The number of fines being levied around the league these days is rediculous.

First of all who titled this video a 'VICIOUS' illegal hit? There was nothing illegal about it.Oh my goodness STOP THE PRESSES!! He took at most about 3 steps, maximum. The NFL is turning into flag football. It's never gonna go back to the way it was. It's only gonna get worse & the only possibility of turning the game into tackle football is for US,the fans to take a stand & stop buying apparel & boycott games live & on TV.Ya know that's not gonna happen,so get used to the flag football that comes on every Sunday.

That was worth $20,000?

The hit was a little bit late, but that was only because we are watching it in slow motion.  No penalty was called, if I remember correctly, but if we don't expect for the refs to be able to see every penalty during games when the players are moving at game speed, why in the HELL, do we expect the players to do the same?  Especially since the refs have it easier-- they have only to watch the game, while the players have to worry about fighting off 325 pound opponents, moving fast enough to make a play, while being expected to stop on a dime to avoid committing a penalty that happened so fast we weren't even able to observe it, let alone take concious action to avoid it.

Goodell is ruining the sport.
