After a two-day vacation to recover from the nightmare that was Randy Moss moving through waivers, what's more exciting than a Friday afternoon report that Zygi Wilf, who's been in Minnesota just hanging out for a few days, was so upset at Brad Childress for circumventing his authority and dumping Moss that the Vikings owner nearly fired his coach and kept his star wideout?

The answer to that rhetorical question is "nothing," so let's break down the noise ESPN's Ed Werder is making -- according to a team source, Wilf was so "irate" that he nearly canned Chilly and retained Moss. This, presumably, is why Moss wasn't actually released on Monday.

Additionally, Werder reports that a Vikings player informed him of individual meetings Wilf held with the players in order to determine "how much support remained for Childress among veteran players."

This is obviously a bombshell, but it's not entirely mind-blowing considering just how things went down with Moss' release.

Childress recently got an extension that doesn't have a buyout clause, so Wilf would probably prefer to avoid throwing a ton of money down the drain by firing him.

That being said, anyone who thinks Chilly's pants aren't a little warm right now is just flat-out delusional.

Hey BudLight, I forgot Farve won the super bowl last year.  Thanks for the insight.  How's he doing this year?  Yep back to the same Farve - 11 picks.  FAIL!

You know that Favre was behind the idea of bringing Moss to Minnesota, in the first place.  When he was in Green Bay, he wanted Mike McCarthy to pick-up Moss; and had a hissy-fit when he didn't.    Childress listened to Favre, and is kicking himself, now, because he did.

gruden would get a new qb in there after the bearded one.    come on,  JJ now knows and has tasted what the SuperBowl win feels like.  Money, he has that, he'll put his ego aside for oh, say 7-8 games next year and then butt in. Gruden all the way. Google search what he said about coaching again the 1st Monday night football game. nothing about money now,  pure ego for the trophy and filling the last 10,000 seats at the stadium. get a life,  loyalty is fine, until it is stupid. just once i would like to see the cuurent head coach,   minny or dallas throw thier headset on the ground or at a player who just boneheaded.   when, and why not? "there are those who can, those that can not, teach ; and if they can not teach, they teach phys ed." woody allen.  a wimp who said it straight.

Sorry TerryRyan records or not Farve is a Class 5 a--hole.  He may be the Iron Man but compared to Cal Ripken Jr he's not even in the same class of sports star on or off the field. Not to mention cheating on his wife and now exploiting her while she has cancer?  What a bum.  I also have heard he flies without the team and has a locker apart from the team.  He's all about Brett and a complete jerk in my book.  I am glad he sucks this year but as long as he keeps the record alive who cares right Brett?  Keep losing losers...  How's that jaw son?  BOOM goes the dynamite!
