Report: Harvin in 'heated argument' with Chilly

Percy Harvin missed Wednesday and Thursday practice and threatened to leave the Vikings with Hank Baskett as their primary receiving weapon against the Cardinals on Sunday (well, at least in Brad Childress' mind anyway).

He came back to practice Friday, but according to a report from Judd Zulgad of the Star-Tribune, Childress and Harvin ended up getting in a "heated argument" after Chilly "questioned Harvin's effort in practice."

Harvin was upset with Randy Moss' recent departure from Minnesota and it's a safe assumption that there's some sort of underlying feelings here: Childress reportedly almost lost his job because of the Moss deal and the possibility that he'd lost the locker room.

Harvin didn't help things by taking his emotions public and now -- surprise, surprise -- things are mildly tense in Minnesota with the team.

The only good news in all of this is that winning solves most problems. But that's easier said than done for the Vikings these days.

Childress will be gone early next week. Mark my words. Zygi Wilf would have granted everyone the interview that they have been seeking and publicly supported his mind was made up to stand behind him.

Best case scenario is the Vikings win and Childress still gets booed out of the building and subsequently canned.

Childress hasn't wanted Favre at all this season, but Favre is too big of a draw money-wise for the Wilf family, so ownership is behind the QB and not the coach. Childress can feel the walls closing in, and in an act of desparation, cans Moss because he thinks he can. He has clearly lost the support of the locker room and the owners, and may not last the season. Now he and Harvin have a spat, but Percy is the future star of the Vikings, so Childress might as well start looking for future employment...

Lack of Leadership from Chilly = Harvin's blowup and attitude + Moss's Antics + Vikes D-Line's lack of heart.  Yes Moss may be a man child, but regardless this stuff points back to a leadership void in the Vikings locker-room and it starts with Col. Klink... the question is, where is Col. Hogan?

It makes me feel a little better about being a Bears fan knowing this much chaos is happening in Minnesota.

The owner is just a loss away from firing Childress. GO Arizona!

CHildress is a disaster as a head coach - the polar opposite of my team's somewhat flawed GM. But even though he has provided Favre thorough tongue enemas over the last couple years, it appears that Moss's stools were too much for him. I can't say I feel bad for him or the team - Favre is a prima donna who put himself ahead of the Packers - and then there's the idiot Jared Allen. I can't see how the Vikes can come back this season, and after Childress and Favre leave next year it'll be mediocrity until they find a good QB.

Chilly has lost his mind.  First he goes and gets an injured Farve to be a sitting duck.  Then to make matters worse he gives up a 3rd round draft pick for Moss for 26 days.  Just think if Moss cleared waivers and ended up back with the Pats.  Chilly would look even more foolish.   If Moss was not a good fit you should have known that from the start and definately not give up a 3rd round pick.  Especially if Moss was traded to the Pats for a 4th round pick.  Harvin was in his comfort zone with Moss streaching the defense.  It seems to me that the players don't respect Chilly after the pickup artist slid to the airport to pick up Farve.  When was the last time you seen a headcoach pick up a player at the airport?  Never!  Harvin gitting into an arguement with Chilly is probably why Moss was let go.  He gave Harvin a headsup that Chilly doesn't know what he is doing.  I know this, as long as Farve is calling plays Chilly will lose what little respect he has if he has not already.Cool

Will Chily be fired after the next game?  He seems to be pompous and arrogant.  Team Harvin! The Vikings have morals though?! ahaha They just buried the season.
