Harvin, Childress had to be separated

This Brad-Childress-vs.-the-rest-of-the-
Minnesota-Vikings situation is getting very, very ugly.

ESPN’s
Ed Werder, citing a report in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, writes that WR Percy Harvin and Childress had a heated confrontation Friday afternoon, and it got so bad, players had to separate the two. We wrote about this Friday, but the fact the argument almost turned physical deserves another post.

Harvin, suffering an ankle injury, hadn’t practiced until Friday, and during the portion open to reporters, he was limping badly. Childress then questioned Harvin’s effort, and Harvin didn’t like the implication. It escalated until it nearly became physical.

"You just did what a lot of us have been wanting to say for years,” a teammate said to Harvin, according to a Werder source.

We wrote about the team’s view of Childress earlier this week, and the confrontation with Harvin isn’t surprising. 1) Childress doesn’t seem to be real popular with any of his players (or his owner or the team’s fans, etc, etc.) at this point. 2) Harvin viewed Randy Moss as a big brother – “He followed him around like a puppy in the locker room,” one person told me this week – and Childress releasing him couldn’t have made Harvin happy.

Harvin, Childress had to be separated

Do you think Percy was wearing his pink panties when he had 9 catches for 126 yards today?

Moss is a freak-  I will give you that.  He's 6-5, runs as fast as Deon Sanders and has incredible hands.  Saying that Moss has never won at any level is not accurate.    Moss led his high school team, the DuPont Panthers, to back-to-back state championships in 1992 and 1993. He was a star at wide receiver, but also played defensive back, returned kickoffs and punts, and was the teams kicker and punter. In 1994, he was honored as the West Virginia Football Player of the Year. Parade Magazine named him to their annual All-American high school football team and recently named him one of the 50 greatest high school football players of all time.  I would call leading your team to back-to-back state titles winning at the High School level.   Moss hasn't won a National Championship or a Super Bowl, but that does not mean that he isn't one of the greatest wide receivers in the history of the NFL.  Moss holds the NFL single season touchdown reception record (23, set in 2007), and the NFL single-season touchdown reception record for a rookie (17, in 1998).  He was named offensive rookie of the year.  In 1998, Moss helped the Vikings to become the number one-ranked offense, scoring a then-NFL record 556 points.  Moss made the Pro Bowl five times in his seven-year career with the Minnesota Vikings (1998–2000, 2002, and 2003).  Two of the first three Vikings teams he was on made it to the NFC Championship game.  In his rookie campaign his Vikings went 15-1 in the regular season-  He was also on the Patriots team that went a perfect 16-0 for the regular season.   Two teams that Randy was on, the 1998 Vikings and the 2007 Patriots, went a combined 31-1.  i know of alot of teams that would like to have that kind of "darkness and bad karma".  He has played in two NFC Championship Games, one AFC Championships game and a Super Bowl but you contend that he has never been a winner at any level.  I would say that statement is inaccurate to say the least.

In 2007 Moss earned his sixth Pro Bowl selection. His season featured touchdowns in 13 of 16 games (including 8 multi-touchdown games), nine 100-yard games, and six touchdown receptions of 40 or more yards.

Also Percy Harvin is a freaking stud.  There was NO reason for Childress to cut Moss from the team.  NO team with any brains would have released Moss.  This is a disaster for the Vikings, and Childress will fired as a result of not being able to manage players - Moss will move on a play for a better coach in Jeff Fisher and is expected to make an impact on that football team right away -

Randy Moss is the greatest wr ever. Hes never had a good QB except for Brady when he broke NFL records. The best hands and ability to adjust to a ball I've ever seen besides Swann. RIce had two hall of fame QBs throwing to him and Gannon didn't suck either. Watch New Englands and bradys failure to make the playoffs. Harvin is a great player Brad better start kissing his ass and take off his panties. Cause if you know Farve hes the greatest shotgun QB and brad never uses that till the 4th when there 20 pts down. Fuck childress
