12:31 ET UPDATE: Our Cowboys RapidReporter , Nick Eatman, says that Wade Phillips has been seen at Valley Ranch, contrary to earlier reports. As usual after night games, Phillips flew back with owner Jerry Jones Sunday following the game.

By all indications, the ax has already fallen on beleaguered Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips. ESPN reports that Phillips’ leased SUV was not in the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch parking lot as of 9:00 a.m. CT, and Phillips has not been seen around the facility.

Normally, Jerry Jones meets with the Cowboys coaching staff on Monday mornings to watch game film.

In an even more ominous sign, the Cowboys have called a 4:00 p.m. CT press conference. Phillips has not confirmed with the media whether he has discussed his job status with Jones.

After Sunday night’s embarrassment at Green Bay, Jones said, “There are a lot of people here who are certainly going to suffer and suffer consequences. I'm talking about within the team, players, coaches, who have got careers. This is certainly a setback. I know first hand what it is to have high expectations."

heitert3,
I meant Bill Cowher, but accidentally typed Parcells.  Thanks for that correction.  I also think that Jon Gruden has a good chance at the job because if you look at the history of Jerry Jones, after he brings in a lax coach where it doesn't really work out, he usually brings in a guy that is fiery and will get in his face.  I wish Jones would relinquish the responsibilities of general manager to someone else, but that's not very likely to happen.  I can see Gruden working with Jones for a few years, getting the Cowboys back to respectability and getting tossed for someone Jerry Jones can use as a puppet again.  This seems to be a cycle.  Just like with Al Davis in Oakland.  In my honest opinion, I think owners should keep their hands off of the football side of things.  Hire a general manager that can get his head coach.  When that happens it generally seems to work.  Or if you want to maintain a football voice, bring in someone to be the team president that has a say over personnel.  When you're the only voice in the room on draft day, I don't ever see how that can work out.
As to Frazier, I think after the season, or earlier if the Vikings falter, Wilf will fire Childress and promote Frazier to head coach before he can get away.  If he doesn't, I could see Frazier going to any of the potential openings this year.  If San Diego falters the rest of the way and doesn't make the playoffs (they're looking hot right now, watch out.)  I think Norv Turner will be axed.  Same with Lovie Smith in Chicago.  And like you said, look for John Fox not to be renewed.  I also think Marvin Lewis is going to be done in Cincinnati.  That's just a little extra to think about.

Jerry should FIRE himself. He is ever bit at fault as much as Wade, Garrett or the team! Jerry refused to address secondary needs. Alan Ball was given the free safety job? Gerald Sensabaugh and Ball spend most plays agruing about who blew what assignment. David Buehler was given the kicking job without competition? Jerry hired Garrett before Wade making for an uncomfortable relationship. Garrett is the worst play caller in the history of football! Wade's defense is horrible!
"It just looked like they weren't into the game like an NFL team should be." Stated Jags QB David Garrard. That falls at the feet from everyone from the top to the bottom!

I imagine you'll see Garrett as the sacrificial lamb/interim coach here, with Campo moving into the D-Coordinator spot, and some offensive position coach taking on O-Coordinator responsibilities.  Then at seasons' end, he'll probably axe the lot of them bring in a name coach, and let them hire their own staff... unless by some miracle they go 9-0 the rest of he way and make the playoff, in which case he'd keep Garrett.

Parcells won't come back.  He may go elsewhere as a front-office guy again, but I'm pretty certain he's done with the coaching aspect.  Frankly, I think you'd have a better chance of seeing Cowher than Gruden though.  I know Gruden wants back in, but I just can't imagine him and Jones getting along... Gruden could hardly stand the level of owner involvement in Oakland back in the day.  I think he's going to want a team where he has more autonomy... he doesn't want a situation like Dallas or Washington where the owner is very hands-on.

One possibility for Dallas would be Fox, since his contract in Carolina is done this year.  Cowher would be a good call too, although I don't know what his interest level is with regards to coaching again.  Or take a look at one of the great coordinators out there like Fewell or Frazier.

I think Gruden is more likely to pop up someplace like Cleveland, Jacksonville, Houston (if things go badly there in the second half), Chicago, Carolina, or San Fransisco.  I think the 49ers and Browns (with Holmgren) would be particularly good fits, if those jobs open up.

All indications are Phillips will be fired today

If Wade Phillips is indeed fired today like many suspect, the question is, who takes over for the rest of the season?  Could it be Jason Garrett, the long awaited head coach in waiting?  Since the offense has looked so atrocious, I doubt he gets a chance.  Most likely, the next coach of the Cowboys will fire him anyway because of the threat he poses.  Paul Pasqualoni, the defensive line coach, was the head coach of the Syracuse Orange for quite some time and has a pretty impressive record of 107-59-1 as a college head coach.  As an interim coach, he seems like someone who could step in and it wouldn't be a problem for the rest of the season.  Of course, if Wade Phillips is fired, not only is the head coach gone, but also the defensive coordinator, so expect someone to take over that role as well.  Dave Campo, the secondary coach, was the head coach of the Cowboys for three seasons, and I'm sure Jerry Jones wouldn't mind letting him take over for the rest of the season since it's already a lost season.  Or could Jerry Jones himself take over as the head coach?  I mean, he already is the owner and general manager, why not take over for the rest of the season.  After this season, I expect there to be a major overhaul throughout the entire coaching staff with Jon Gruden or Bill Parcells taking over as the head coach next season.

All indications are Phillips will be fired today

Obviously the so-called wunderkind Jason Garrett will get a crack at it. I fail to see how someone that can't even do the offensive playcalling properly is an improvement over Wade. What the hell are they gonna do about defensive coordinator? Wade is the current DC, so firing him leaves two empty spots.

All indications are Phillips will be fired today

This is the end result of Jerry continuing to stick his nose in the middle of everything. Choosing a coach that will bow to your wim isn't the way to get things done. I had hoped after signing Parcells that Jerry would finally get the message. Apparently not.

'BOUT DAMN TIME!! I am not a Cowboy fan by any stretch. But to see how they have fallen because of this boob is pathetic. I want the Cowboys to reach the Super Bowl so the Steelers can run their record up to 3-1 on them.
