How much money could Haynesworth lose?

According to J.I. Halsell, former Redskins salary cap advisor, quite a bit actually.

As Halsell writes on his Twitter page, the fact the organization reworked Haynesworth’s contract in March might save the organization more than $20 million (this assumes the Redskins will try to get their guaranteed money back from Haynesworth, and this assumes they prevail in whatever arbitration case/appeal in which they participate).

The Collective Bargaining Agreement says guaranteed money can be forfeited at a pro-rated rate. Before the team redid the contract – precluding the bonus from being pro-rated - it would have had the opportunity to collect $3.5 million of Haynesworth’s $100 million contract. Now, though, it could win back as much as $21 million.

According to George Atallah, the NFLPA assistant executive director of external affairs, the union is reviewing the details of Haynesworth’s contract.

How much money could Haynesworth lose?

Everyone talks smack about Bruce Smith getting a contract from Dan Snyder.

Bruce Smith came to work everyday and played hard.  He was NOT a bust.  What's with these short term memories?

How much money could Haynesworth lose?

There are plenty more retarded contracts than this.

- The Redskins gave Antwan Randle El $31 million dollars a season after he had 32 catches
- The Redskins gave run stuffing Adam Archuleta a ton of money to be a cover 2 safety
- The Redskins gave a 37 year old Bruce Smith a 5 year contract
- The Redskins gave Deion Sanders the biggest contract a cornerback had ever received, even though he had a pre-existing turf toe condition that would force him to retire a year later
