Ochocinco's future in Cincy looking iffy?

C. Ochocinco (US Presswire)
It’s been an embarrassingly awful season in Cincinnati. Here’s the outlook for 2011: Terrell Owens won’t be back (for usual reasons). Carson Palmer probably shouldn’t be back but will be (for usual reasons….i.e. money). Marvin Lewis is an enormous question mark (his contract expires after this season). We’ve spent the better part of the past two months discussing the future of these three.

But one Bengal future we haven’t discussed much is Chad Ochocinco’s. Not to worry…he got that ball rolling this week. On the T.Ocho Show this week, Ochocinco said “I’d love to see Terrell come back next year. As far as myself, I don’t even know if I’ll be back next year. … Changes will be made and they’ll be significant.”

Ochocinco has a $6 million option in 2011 that many Bengals observers believe is unlikely to be picked up. Football-wise, the 32-year-old is still worth $6 million; Ochocinco’s numbers may be down (67 catches, 831 yards, four touchdowns), but he has drawn frequent double coverage throughout the season. The problem is, this is a 32-year-old who far too often behaves like a five-year-old. Team chemistry has been a leading cause of the failure in Cincy, and insiders will tell you that, lovable as he is, no player is as disruptive to that chemistry as Ochocinco.

We got a hint of this Wednesday when the receiver and Marvin Lewis traded barbs about 85's alleged mopeyness.

And to say his "good" seasons were years ago, you realize he still has a shot at 4000 yards THIS year?

So you measure a QBs success in yards? I think your alone in the world on that one. How about his 18 interceptions or his QB rating that is 23rd in the league (just below greats likes Campbell, Collins and Alex Smith). You say that Ben and Romo are more overrated than he is? There isn't any stat that would prove that, certainly not win/loss record, QB rating, TD-Int ratio, completion percentage, YPA, or post season wins. So yea, you stick with your "yards thrown makes the QB" argument.

I won't argue that Mike Brown is the main problem in Cincy, but unfortunately it looks like his stupidity has brought them all down and it may have ruined Palmer. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery to get back to the QB we saw in 2005, all those years ago.

It starts from the top, Mike Brown couldn't run a bikini car wash on an isolated military base... the man is straight stupid. If all he cares about is money money money, then what do you think the players will soon only care about. There is no winning spirit on the team anymore. Marvin does nothing to unite the team. Carson is all but washed up now. However, Mike Brown will sit back and do NOTHING about it. Look at the last 3 home games, they did not sell out and unless there is drastic change next year will be another disaster of a season. Mike Brown SELL the team, you are not your father and never will be able to come close to his accomplishments. And that is ok, find something you are good at, because you are terrible at running a football organization.

palmer was never the same after his severe knee injury , and mike brown is the same as kyle shanahan , a couple of idiots who know nothing about football and only have nfl jobs because of their family ties
