UPDATE 4:10 p.m. ET: CBSSports.com's Jaguars Rapid Reporter writes, "A team source says coach Jack Del Rio and his staff will be back next season." Del Rio and Weaver met for several hours on Monday. Weaver will address the media at 5:30 ET Monday; Del Rio will speak at 10:00 a.m. ET Tuesday.

Jack Del Rio was a coach seemingly taken off his proverbial hot seat just three weeks ago. The Jaguars
were 8-5 and in control of their own destiny in the AFC South. But then they collapsed down the stretch…again. The Jags finished 0-3 and out of the playoffs for a third straight season. Last year, the Jags were 7-5 but ended on a four-game losing streak. The owner seems to have noticed -- and Del Rio’s job security seems to be back in question.
“No, I’m not talking about that,” Wayne Weaver said when asked by the First Coast News about the team’s coaching situation Monday morning. “We’ve got to sit down and evaluate the season. I do think we’ve made some progress this season. I’m not talking about coaching.”
To be fair to Del Rio, not many head coaches win after losing their best player (Maurice Jones-Drew) and starting quarterback (David Garrard) in the final games. Del Rio has two years, $10 million remaining on his contract.
