K. Kolb
With Philadelphia’s offseason just a few hours old, backup quarterback Kevin Kolb stirred up a little expected controversy.

Asked about his future after the wild card loss to Green Bay, Kolb, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, said, “I love it here, as everybody knows. My family’s settled in here. I would love to be starting here. But I want to be starting somewhere.”

When asked if he could handle another season as a backup in Philadelphia, the fourth-year pro said “I can’t answer that.”

Worth noting is the fact that Kolb is scheduled to only earn $1.4 million in 2011. The Eagles figure to keep Michael Vick as their starting quarterback once the CBA gets figured out and they can get him under contract.

Kolb seems uncertain about his future in Philly

Unless they get a great package of draft picks from Carolina or perhaps Tennessee I do not see the Eagles moving Kolb.  As one poster mentioned before, Vick is bound to miss at least a few games due to injury so why not have the best possible backup ready to go?  Not to mention Vick is one bad hit away from missing significant time on the DL (this could potentially happen as early as Week 1 the way he and his O-Line play).  I don't see any team having enough to offer to entice the Eagles into moving him.

Kolb seems uncertain about his future in Philly

The 49ers definitely need a QB and I think he would be a good fit in SanFrancisco under new head coach Jim Harbough.  C'mon Jed York, throw some money at Kolb and make an offer.

Throw all the money you want at Kolb, that's not going to get it done.  If you read the article, Kolb is still under contract with Philly for next season.  If the 49rs want Kolb they have to "throw some money" (and/or players or draft picks) at the Eagles and make a trade.  At only $1.4 million, no way Kolb is going to be released outright -- to good an insurance policy on either (1) not being able to re-sign Vick and/or (2) Vick getting hurt.

Be patient, philly

I think Philly will be tempted to move Kolb for some nice draft picks or some enticing package.  Plenty of teams would love to get their hands on Kolb as QB play is terrible on plenty of teams. I think the Eagles would be wise to hang on to Kolb, there is a good possibility that Vick won't be able to start 16 games next year with his playstyle. A good backup would seem to me a necessity.

Kolb's Future? Who cares?

Moe,

Poor Kevin Kolb. He's feelings must be hurt. Moe, our o-line is horrednous, at best. If Kolb was under center this season, he would have been running around like Paul Blake for ESU Moe. Winston Justice? Handjob. Our defense? What defense? Don't tell me Graham Cracker, the Hobbit and the Bradley Center make that much of a difference Moe. Patterson? Handjob? Sims? Handjob. Defensive line (aside from Cole)? Handjobs. Akers? Hanjdob. The 7 minutes where we ssssssmoked out the G-Men, was the only time in the last 4 or 5 games where the Birds were watchable. We stink, seriously. We don one thing well, play (and act) like a bunch of hoods. This team is unwatchable Moe. They are a bunch of hoods. Period.

Go Flyers Moe, seriously. Our Iggles are for the birds.
