With Philadelphia’s offseason just a few hours old, backup quarterback Kevin Kolb stirred up a little expected controversy.
Asked about his future after the wild card loss to Green Bay, Kolb, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, said, “I love it here, as everybody knows. My family’s settled in here. I would love to be starting here. But I want to be starting somewhere.”
When asked if he could handle another season as a backup in Philadelphia, the fourth-year pro said “I can’t answer that.”
Worth noting is the fact that Kolb is scheduled to only earn $1.4 million in 2011. The Eagles figure to keep Michael Vick as their starting quarterback once the CBA gets figured out and they can get him under contract.
