Super Bowl XLV is a heavyweight monster of matchup -- the NFC champ Packers square off against the Steelers (eight-time AFC champions) -- and the line is a good reflection of just that, with the Packers favored 2.5 points over the Steelers.

It's a bit surprising to see a No. 6 seed as the favorite in the Super Bowl, but recent history of wild cards storming the final game should tell us enough not to overlook the Packers in this contest. Also: they're white-hot, and that's precisely why they ended up as the favorites in this game, despite an uneven showing against the Bears.

Worth noting is that the Hilton and Glantz-Culver opened the line as Packers -2, which means that you're looking at, give or take a half point, a rare case where the Super Bowl line is under a field goal. (Both lines have since moved to Packers -2.5; their over has also jumped quickly, showcasing the public's love with the over.) You're also looking at a case of bettors having a "love affair" with the Packers -- they're the quintessential "peak at the right moment" team that's rolling into the Super Bowl, even if it's against a Steelers team that features a quarterback who just wins Super Bowls.

Interestingly, the over/under for the game is 45.5, which is pretty high for two teams that have pretty strong defenses. That's probably a reflection of two things. One, the Steelers and Packers are pretty heavy on the pass (despite the stereotype that pervades Pittsburgh football), and two, the Aaron Rodgers/Ben Roethlisberger combo just begs for some broken plays on defense that result in long touchdowns.

Nope just MIke Wallace.   Try and keep up with him!

Yea he has real good numbers this playoffs 4 catches for 26 yards. Looks like the last 2 teams were able to keep up.

BigL23, I wish the spread was more. The more the Steelers feel disrespected the more I like their chances. The Packers have a great team and will have lots of opportunities to be back, but this year will end with a Steelers victory. The media will be picking the Packers, I'll go with the experience. The Packers don't have enough players who have been there before, wait till you see your players get star struck.

The last time BIG Ben played the packers, he threw for 503 yards. The STEELERS will win the superbowl because the packers is a finesse team and will be physically out played. They will be one dimensional and the STEELERS will capitalize by out hitting the packers. Remeber the packers are trying to be the STEELERS on defense but they are not by no means. Capers is not Lebeau that's the difference. The STEELERS has the tougher team. Tougher QB, RB, TE, WR(Ward and the fastest with Wallace), DL, LB, Safeties. GB has the advantage with their DBs and a slim edge with the WRs but you take away the finess and what do you have. There's a reason why GB was #6 seed and everybody will see why against the STEELERS.

Packers will certainly win this game, I say by 7 or 10.  They are the hotter team and match up well against the Steelers.   I think the Jets would have a better chance to beat the Packers on an even playing field such as in Dallas.  The Packers have had a tougher road, all games on the road in fact and won in the 'unbeatable dome' in Atlanta but also winning in Philly and Chicago.  Say what you want but they have gotten there the hard way and finish it off in Dallas.  Sorry Steelers fans...
