Posted by Will BrinsonSometime around midnight on Sunday, the Internet briefly exploded with rumors that Andy Reid was stepping down as Eagles head coach and being replaced by Jon Gruden.
Fortunately, this rumor is as ridiculous as it sounds.
"Early this morning, we have received several inquiries regarding the rumors regarding Andy Reid and Jon Gruden," the Eagles said in a statement. "This was simply a rumor and there is no basis to it at all. It is simply not true."
For whatever reason, the rumor started because Jon Gruden was in Philadelphia, which is something millions of famous people do millions of time per year.
Additionally, the Saints issued some sort of statement about Sean Payton leaving for Dallas (also not true), although it's believed that the rampant Reid rumor started earlier.
In unrelated news, Adam Sandler was in Dallas on Sunday, so he may be replacing Jason Garrett as Dallas as soon as yesterday.
