Have you heard about some of the zany things that Chad Ochocinco has done this offseason? You probably have. But if not, you should probably know that he's ridden bulls and tried out for a Major League Soccer team.

These "stunts" resulted in Bengals owner Mike Brown joking (maybe) that Ocho should pick up snake wrangling. Now the wide receiver says he will wrestle alligators.

"I just one-upped (Brown): I am wrestling alligators," Ochocinco told WXIX-TV following a recent training session. "Actually, catching them in the wild, which is going to be really interesting, I am catching them in the wild."

"Don't laugh, like I am serious and you'll see it. And I am living life.

"It's pretty dangerous, I could lose an arm, lose a leg, you know ... so was bull riding," Ochocinco said. "So the chance of me getting hurt on the bull is similar to the chance as me winning the lottery, slim to none. And the same thing with alligators. If he bites me, I can still play with one arm [because] I can kick, seriously."
Bengals Offseason

Ochcoinco CAN kick ... but whether or not he can safely manage to wrestle alligators is an entirely different story altogether.

It may not matter, of course -- there's a new labor deal (hopefully) on the horizon, and once the lockout's lifted, Ochocinco can bank his current -- and any other future -- employer making sure that he's aware of certain clauses in his contract which prohibit him from engaging in dangerous activities.

Although, really, can it be any less safe than associating himself with Terrelle Pryor?

Chad Ochocinco is going to wrestle alligators

ESPN has released their annual ranking of the best franchises in the MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL, and the news is not good for the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals ranked last - number 122 out of 122 - in 'The Ultimate Standings.'
ESPN considers eight major categories in determining the rankings: bang for the buck, fan relations, ownership, affordability, stadium experience, players, coaches and title track. The Bengals ranked 90th last year.
And we the people of Hamilton county PAY for this in tax $$$ to pay for THERE stadium.
Professional sports are big business. Billions of dollars in net profits exchange hands between League Offices in the big four of professional sports and franchise owners and players. So much money is made that it leads to Titanic struggles. Witness the recent fight in the National Football League over how $9 Billion in revenue will be divided between the league, team owners, and the players.

Since 2003, Hamilton County taxpayers had to pay for improvements and upkeep at Paul Brown Stadium in 2003 ($677,344), 2005 ($1,214,439), 2006 ($1,482,326), 2007 ($1,159,914), 2008 ($2,322,843), 2009 ($1,222,771) and 2010 ($512,230). Comparatively speaking, taxpayers only had to pay $2,177,870 million for upkeep and improvement at Great American Ball Park.
Commissioners tried to "bail out" the Stadium Fund by forcing homeowners to pay more money in property taxes while reducing the property tax rollback. The deal asked for the Reds and Bengals to add a combined $9.6 million over the next five years in rent. Neither have signed off on the deal and the average Hamilton County homeowner will pay an additional $80 this year.

Chad Ochocinco is going to wrestle alligators

This guy has A.D.D or something.  His attention span is like a five year old and I think he's also having a identity crisis.  He doesn't know who he is or what he wants.  He plays football for a living but acts like a clown.  He first changes his name and then goes on reality tv shows.  Then he decides he wants to play soccer and then bull riding and now alligator wrestling.  I know it's all publicity stunts but this is getting out of hand. He is making himself look like a fool in front of millions of people while he should be using his energy working on his game cause that's what your paid to do and your doing it half ass.  Even with the receivers they have now Chad doesn't seem to be the number one option anymore.  The other receivers has stepped up and is TRYING to be a better player for his team to give them the best chance to win games.  It comes down to Chad doesn't care about the game anymore or being great and he should just retire so he can give another player who wants to play a chance to be on the roster.

Chad Ochocinco is going to wrestle alligators

I'm no great fan of Chad Johnson, the Bengls, Dancing With The Stars, or alligator wrestling.

Choosing to wrestle alligators could be an effort to be remembered for his peculiar personality (realizing that he's unlikely to be remembered for winning championships).  Or it could simply be an attempt to salve a case of terminal boredom.  Or even an effort to impress a romantic interest.  What difference does it make to any of us?

The people whose opinions on this have any relevance include his team's owner, coaches, and trainers, his teammates, immediate family, and close friends, the heads of the NFL and players' union, and his agent and corporate sponsors.  If I were at Reebok, though, I'd at least prepare a few potential designs for new Ochosinco jerseys in the event that he gets injured.  (Like designs with one or both sleeves "bitten" off or chomp marks in various parts of the torso, designs spattered with bloodstains, or even one with the name changed to "Cincocuatro" to indicate some of him is missing.)

If he took his adventure a little beyond just alligators to include some nasty game fish, too, maybe he could have fun with the show's name by calling it "Prancing With the Gars"?  (Ouch -- sorry for the awful pun before 9am...)  Best of luck to him.

Chad Ochocinco is going to wrestle alligators

If the gator takes off one of his hands then at least he will have a ready made excuse for dropping passes at crunch time--this guy is over rated, boring, not funny and most of all a LOSER.  Please sigh him up long term Marvin.
